“Tonight we made history for a reason,” he said.

‘We overcame obstacles that no one thought possible. And now it is clear that we have achieved the most incredible political achievement.”

His smile was huge and seemed sincere.

The couple kissed during the celebrations and Melania smiled at the crowd as Trump assured them he could “unlock America’s glorious destiny.”

Melania looked glamorous in an expertly tailored gray skirt suit and with her blonde hair in loose curls.

The former first lady, 54, who has been largely absent from Trump’s campaign this election cycle, joined an all-star cast at Madison Square Garden ahead of the US presidential election to support her husband at the last hurdle.

In what was one of her first appearances on the campaign trail, Tesla CEO Elon Musk introduced her on stage and emerged to a standing ovation as he defiantly told the crowd: “New York City and America need recover its magic.”

Body language expert Judi James said Trump appeared to “fully accept her as the jewel in his political crown” during the joint outing.

But she was forced to intervene to defend Trump in October amid relentless criticism from Democrats and outspoken critics that he was a modern-day Hitler.

“He is not Hitler and his followers support him because they want the country to succeed,” Melania said during an interview on Fox and Friends.

Despite the harsh criticism Trump received during the campaign, it seems increasingly likely that he will win the popular vote and the electoral college.

Trump is currently just three votes short of winning 270 Electoral College votes, and CNN’s election data guru John King described Kamala Harris as a “beatdown” from the former president.

World leaders including Keir Starmer, Emmanuel Macron and Benjamin Netanyahu have congratulated Trump even though Harris has not officially confirmed her victory or made any concessions.

Melania shared the spotlight on stage with Trump’s daughter-in-law, Lara, who secured her place as the president’s right-hand woman after months of tireless campaigning.
