Melania Trump on Tuesday defended her husband Donald Trump, saying he is not a new version of Adolf Hitler.
Democrats, including Barack Obama, criticized Trump for holding a rally at Madison Square Garden that they compared to a Nazi event after many of the speakers made racist and sexist comments.
Trump has defended himself against the attacks and now his wife has stepped in to do the same, making a rare television appearance to talk about the election.
‘It’s terrible. He is not Hitler and his supporters support him because they want the country to succeed. We’ll see what kind of support he has,” Melania Trump said during an interview on Fox and Friends.

Donald Trump’s rally at Madison Square Garden, where Melania spoke, was compared to a Nazi rally that took place there on February 20, 1939.
“Donald Trump has organized this great rally at Madison Square Garden,” Tim Walz said over the weekend. “There is a direct parallel to a large demonstration that took place in the mid-1930s at Madison Square Garden.”
Obama, speaking at a Kamala Harris rally in Philadelphia on Monday night, attacked Trump and called out speakers at his Sunday night event at New York’s largest venue.
“Man holds this big rally at Madison Square Garden,” Obama said, noting that warm-up speakers were “spewing the most racist, sexist, bigoted stereotypes.” One man called Puerto Rico “a garbage island.”
‘These are Americans. They are people. And that’s the reason why this choice “We shouldn’t be close,” he continued.
The former president denied the charges.
‘I’m not a Nazi. “I’m the opposite of a Nazi,” Trump told thousands of supporters at Georgia Tech on Monday night.
The comparisons came after Trump’s former chief of staff, John Kelly, said Trump spoke admirably of Hitler and his generals. Trump has denied it.
The Madison Square Garden event was full of controversial moments.
Trump’s childhood friend David Rem referred to Harris as “the Antichrist” and “the devil.” Businessman Grant Cardone told the crowd that Harris “and her pimps will destroy our country.”
Melania Trump, in her interview on Fox & Friends, expressed confidence that her husband would prevail on Election Day.
‘I feel good. “My husband is traveling all over the country,” she said. ‘I feel good. My husband is traveling across the country. “We saw that Sunday night, Sunday throughout the day, it was an incredible day, there was a lot of support.”

Melania Trump has barely been on the campaign trail.
His appearance at Madison Square Garden on Sunday was his first time at a campaign rally this cycle. He attended the Republican National Convention but did not speak. He did not attend any of the presidential debates.
She said she spoke out Sunday because “I also want to support my husband, so I was there for him and everyone else.”
She also admitted that she is careful where she goes after the two assassination attempts on her husband.
‘It’s different. It is much more dangerous and I am very vigilant and selective where I go, what I do, you never know. It’s just one person. And it’s dangerous out there,” he said.
She noted that when Donald Trump leaves for an event, she tells him, “I always tell him, good luck and stay safe.” You never know what kind of phone call you will receive and what may happen in life. Life is fragile and we should enjoy it every day.’
