Melania Trump gave her reaction to the viral video of her son Barron talking about his “shit case,” saying she’s “very proud of him.”
In her first interview since Donald Trump won the election, the new first lady talked about her plans for the White House, her son coming of age, and her husband’s dance moves.
She admitted that she had never tried Trump’s signature styles on the dance floor, but called it all his own.
“This is a very special and unique dance,” she told Fox & Friends. ‘And I think a lot of people copy it and everyone enjoys it.”
She also described 18-year-old Barron as a “mature young man” but worried he wouldn’t have a normal college experience because of his family name. But she also added that she is proud of how he helped his father’s presidential campaign with his advice on young voters.
“He is a mature young man, I am very proud of him for his knowledge, even about politics and giving advice to his father. He has brought in so many young people that he knows his generation,” she said.
‘Because nowadays the young generation is not in front of the TV anymore, they are all on their tablets, on their phones and all these podcasts and streamers. “He was very vocal and gave advice to his father and it was incredible how he achieved success because he knew exactly who his father needed to contact and talk to,” she added.

While she didn’t address the viral video of her young son carrying his Louis Vuitton suitcase, she did reference it.
After the Fox & Friends hosts played the clip, the incoming first lady sounded a little wistful as she noted, “Years go by so quickly. We just can’t imagine it. It’s like when I see the clip you just showed, it feels like it’s been a few months, but time goes by so quickly.”
Last month, Barron Trump broke the internet when a clip of him, at just four years old, stumbling across his expensive Louis Vuitton suitcase while wearing a snazzy suit went viral on TikTok.
“I love my suitcase, I love my suitcase,” Barron said as he picked up the heavy suitcase and lugged it to his mother, Melania.
The infamous clip revealed Baron’s Slovenian accent as a child, which most people didn’t know he had as he largely stayed out of the spotlight despite his father’s influence.
Barron is now a student at NYU and Melania noted that it is difficult for him to have a normal college experience because of his famous family name.
‘I don’t think it’s possible for him to be a normal student. His experience in college is very different than any other child,” she noted.
The incoming first lady also showed off her playful side and sense of humor — something the public rarely saw from her in the White House — when she was asked about Donald Trump’s infamous dance moves.
She playfully hit back when the Fox & Friends hosts teased her about her husband’s style on the dance floor.
“This is a very special and unique dance,” she said. ‘And I think a lot of people copy it and everyone enjoys it.”
The president-elect’s moves include fist pumping in the air and his signature golf swing. Videos of NFL stars, UFC fighters and college football players doing the dance are going viral on social media.
“Is this how you dance,” Brian Kilmeade asked her.
“No,” Melania said, laughing in her response.
“Did you give him any tips,” Steve Doocy asked.
“No,” Melania said, still laughing. ‘HHe comes all alone.
Doocy continued by asking, “Have you ever done the Trump dance, you’re Mrs. Trump.”
“I didn’t,” she replied.

During the 20-minute interview, Melania also explained why she declined Jill Biden’s invitation to the White House for tea when Donald Trump met President Joe Biden in the Oval Office.
She pointed out that she lived in the White House for four years and knows it well.
‘It’s very different this time because we already know where we’re going and we have all the plans from before. So we don’t have to go in anymore,” she said.
“My team is in contact with the White House, so that’s a plus. But we have everything we need, so this is the second time, so it’s nothing new. The first time was a challenge. We didn’t have much access, we were in on January 20th. But this time it is already happening,” she added.
Melania said she’s busy packing her things for the move, setting up her office and interviewing staff.
“I know what you need to determine,” she said. ‘You know what kind of people you have to hire to come and work in your office. So that’s what I do now. I interview people for my office. I’m arranging everything necessary so that we can start on day one, everyone is there and we can get started.’
Melania has hired a chief of staff for the East Wing and named a longtime Trump loyalist as her chief of staff.
Hayley Harrison, who worked in the East Wing during Donald Trump’s first administration and joined the Trumps in Florida after they left the White House, was appointed to the position.
Harrison, along with her husband William “Beau” Harrison, is a Trump White House staffer who joined the first couple at Mar-a-Lago during their post-presidency lives. Hayley and Beau traveled on Marine One with the Trumps from the White House on January 20, 2021.
The couple have remained in Trump’s inner circle and on the payroll: They are paid by Trump’s Save America PAC to work for the former president, according to Federal Election Commission reports. Hayley earned approximately $8,000 to $10,000 per month in salary. William earned a similar amount until November 2023, when he received his final payment from the PAC.
The chief of staff’s announcement noted Harrison’s longstanding loyalty — seven years before Melania Trump. Donald Trump has also stacked his staff with loyalists.
‘Madam. Harrison has provided an integral role and exceptional leadership on the First Lady team for the past seven years. “She has a deep understanding of White House operations, and as Chief of Staff, Ms. Harrison will oversee and lead the East Wing team while strategically engaging with other parts of the government,” she noted.
Melania told Fox & Friends that she plans to bring back her Be Best initiative. She also talked about her collectibles, like NFT and Christmas ornaments, that she sells online.
