Spice Girl Mel B’s daughter has said Nepo babies need to start recognizing that they are given opportunities because of who their parents are.
Phoenix Brown, 25, the eldest daughter of Scary Spice, 49, and Jimmy Gulzar, 49, opened up about her experience of being born into the spotlight.
The young DJ, a close friend of the Beckham children, shared that for her new documentary, she contacted 90 children who have famous parents, but only one of them agreed to talk to her on camera.
Talking to him radio times This month, she said: “I’m working on being a successful DJ and presenter, and I can’t deny that having Mel B as my mother has opened some doors for me.”

‘Nepo babies need to recognize that we are given opportunities faster than most people. As my mother says in the documentary, she came from a working class background and had no one to open doors for her. I wouldn’t have the life I have if it weren’t for the hard work she put into her own career. Not respecting that would be foolish.
In early September, Miss Brown landed a TV deal after a successful stint on Gogglebox with her mother.
In October she starred in her own Channel 4 documentary about the success of nepotism: Born in the Limelight Nepo Babies: UNTOLD.
“When it comes to the children of the rich and famous, people only see the silver platter: the big houses and the cars,” he told Radio Times.
‘Real life is quite different, there are disadvantages. Growing up, I faced hate only because my family was in the public eye. It’s uncomfortable for your parents’ private life to appear in the press or, in my case, even for a teacher to ask you about it.
The term ‘Nepo-Baby’ was coined by a Twitter user in 2022 who was surprised to learn that his favorite actress had famous parents, sparking a fierce debate over whether the children of the rich and famous were receiving an unfair advantage.
Miss Brown is Mel B’s first-born child, conceived during her brief marriage to Dutch dancer Jimmy Gulzar.
The pop star has two other daughters, Angel Murphy Brown, 17, with Eddie Murphy, and Madison Brown Belafonte, 11, with ex-husband Stephen Belafonte.

Phoenix is Mel’s first child from her brief marriage to Dutch dancer Jimmy Gulzar, the singer has another daughter, Angel Murphy Brown, 17, with Eddie Murphy and Madison Brown Belafonte, 11, with her ex-husband Stephen Belafonte.
Last year, Phoenix flew the nest to move in with her boyfriend, but recently revealed that the real reason she moved out was to avoid seeing her famous mom in her underwear.

During an appearance on Romesh Ranganathan’s TV show Parents Evening, the conversation turned to underwear when fellow show guest Richard Madeley admitted that he no longer wears boxers because he finds them too uncomfortable.
Richard said: “When I was in my early thirties I found boxers, budgie smugglers and all that, just irritation, so I got rid of them and never looked back.”
Mel B agreed with the presenter, stating: ‘In general, I like things to feel free.’
Her embarrassed daughter Phoenix later confirmed, “She does, and that’s why I moved.”
It comes after Phoenix revealed how she was bullied growing up and found life as the daughter of a Spice Girl harder than people might think.
She explained that despite having a famous mother, she was not popular at school and had a hard time making friends, but has since been able to build a successful career thanks to her status as Mel’s daughter.
The aspiring artist said The mirror in an exclusive interview that having famous parents made her time at school difficult because she couldn’t take Mel B to parents’ nights or events.
He added that at one point, the bullying got to the point that a “We Hate Phoenix club” was created at his school in the United States.
Despite the difficult time at school, Phoenix admitted that it became easier as she grew older and developed a thicker skin, but she believes she was also targeted because of her race.
