Megyn Kelly slammed George Stephanopoulos as a hypocrite when she accused him of

Megyn Kelly has called George Stephanopoulos a hypocrite and accused him of ‘rape shaming’ the Republican Rep. Nancy Mace despite serving as Bill Clinton’s ‘attack dog’ against sexual assault accusers.

Stephanopoulos grilled Mace on Sunday about how she could support Donald Trump after he was found guilty of sexual assault, despite being a rape victim herself.

South Carolina Rep. hit back at the ABC anchor: ‘As a rape victim who has been shamed for years because of her rape. You’re trying to shame me again.’

Kelly ripped Stephanopoulos, saying he should get the ‘Oscar for Sanctimonious Leftists who act like they’re better than you.’

She referred to Stephanopoulos’ role as communications director in the Clinton White House, claiming he ‘created an entire command center designed to smear Bill Clinton’s sexual assault and rape allegations.’

“You’re trying to shame me for my political choice,” Mace told Stephanopoulos. ‘It wasn’t a criminal court’

Kelly said victims of sexual abuse often do not come forward because they fear the social and professional consequences.

‘It is a very real concern. It happens all the time. Which you know. Because you invented it. Remember? When you created an entire command center designed to smear Bill Clinton’s sexual assault and rape allegations so you could elevate him to the presidency!’ Kelly told his Sirius XM podcast viewers.

‘The lifelong Democrat took to his Sunday show yesterday and decided to really press Republican and Trump endorser Nancy Mace about how on earth she can support a guy who has been found responsible for sexual assault, especially when — as he pointed out to Mace – she’s a rape survivor!’ Kelly said Monday.

‘It’s such an opportunity when you can use a woman’s rape against her!… What a kind, sensitive man who clearly cares deeply about women and their allegations of sexual assault.

“Thanks for being an ally, George. I can see how concerned you are that victims may not come forward if they are publicly attacked by their rapist or his defenders.’

Kelly then went on to refer to Stephanopoulos’ time working for Clinton.

She said: ‘The lawyer who represented many of Bill’s accusers – and there were many, George – said that you and James Carville – at the behest of Hillary Clinton – formed a so-called “war room” whose purpose was “to destroy any woman who wanted to challenge Bill Clinton…” You know the war room – they made a whole movie about it.’

The 1993 documentary The War Room follows Clinton’s 92 presidential campaign and in particular Stephanopoulos and James Carville.

Mace was raped when she was 16 years old and says that’s what drives her to be an advocate for women’s issues.

The clip generated blowback for Stephanopoulos on social media, but ABC is standing by him.

“George did his job by asking meaningful questions that are relevant to our viewers,” an ABC spokesperson told DailyMail.com.

Trump was ordered to pay $83.3 million for defamation after he publicly denied sexually abusing E. Jean Carroll in a department store dressing room in 1996.

Jurors had deliberated for less than three hours after a two-week civil trial in which the former president testified for just three minutes.

The case centered on comments Trump made about Carroll in 2019 after she accused him of assaulting her in a dressing room at the Bergdorf Goodman store in New York nearly three decades ago.

In May, a jury had found Trump responsible for sexual abuse.

Mace, who once said she wanted to be beaten by rioters on Jan. 6 so she could be the face of the “anti-Trump,” made a U-turn in January, endorsing Trump over her longtime friend Nikki Haley.

‘His entire legacy was obliterated yesterday,’ Mace had said on January 7, 2021. ‘Trump’s record in his first term should tell every American how important it is that he be returned to office,’ she said on the 22nd. January 2024.

Trump previously endorsed primary challenger Katie Arrington against Mace in the 2022 cycle, but has since moved on to support Mace.

During a rally in South Carolina that year, Trump called Mace “crazy” and a “terrible person.”
