‘I’m so sorry’: Meghan Trainor apologizes for ‘careless’ remarks about teachers and says anger over school shooting led to misleading comments

Meghan Trainor said she was sorry about comments she made about teachers in a recent podcast, saying her anger over the wave of school shootings led to misleading statements.

“TikTok teachers and teachers of the world, I recently said ‘F teacher’ on a podcast and it’s not how I feel,” said the 29-year-old singer-songwriter in a clip from TikTok Sunday.

“I got excited because we were talking about how sending your kid to school here in America is absolutely awful,” the outspoken musician continued.

The Nantucket, Mass., native said she got caught in the moment while broadcasting her podcast, Workin’ On It, along with her brother Ryan Trainor, 30, and guest influencer Trisha Paytas, 34.

She said that both Paytas and her brother relayed negative past experiences with teachers, which prompted her to make the scandalous statement.

The latest: Meghan Trainor, 29, said she was sorry about comments she made about teachers in a recent podcast, saying her anger over the spate of school shootings led to misleading statements.

The All About That Bass artist, who is expecting her second child with husband Daryl Sabara — the couple are parents to 2-year-old son Riley — explained that she “didn’t mean” to direct the remark at “all the teachers.”

Trainor added, “I love teachers, I fight for teachers. I think they have the hardest job and they get paid the least.”

They are most underappreciated when they turn on literally all of us. I don’t want to make excuses, I just want to (say) I’m so sorry.

Wednesday’s episode of the podcast focused on parenting, as Paytas and husband Moses Hackmon welcomed daughter Malibu last September.

Trainor said she and her husband had planned to homeschool their children when the time came, because they worried what they were seeing on social media in response to the school shooting epidemic in America.

She said, “Everyone on TikTok is like, ‘This is what it’s like to have kids in America. I have a bulletproof backpack. I was like, ‘F*** all that’…f*** teacher, dude.’

The Grammy Award-winning artist said she was bringing the chain of events back into an educational experience.

She said, “I’m so sorry for any teacher I’ve made feel bad and I’m going to remind myself that my words can definitely have consequences and I’m going to be extra careful.”
