Royal experts are expressing concern about the upcoming release of Love, Meghan as Los Angeles faces devastating forest fires. Royal commentator Phil Dampier shared his opinion, saying that the timing of Meghan Markle’s Netflix series is not right given the current crisis.
talking to The Daily Mail, Dampier commented“The timing of Meghan’s show on Netflix couldn’t be worse as hundreds of people have lost their homes in the terrible fires.”
Dampier criticized the show’s premise, suggesting that it feels out of touch with the reality many face. “The last thing anyone is interested in is a show about having friends over for hors d’oeuvres or arranging flowers when the city is burning and people have lost everything,” he said.
The commentator also acknowledged Prince Harry and Meghan’s efforts to support those affected by the bushfires. “Harry and Meghan did the right thing by saying they would help their friends and put them up in their own home.” he pointed out.
However, Dampier pointed to the challenges the pair face in public perception, adding: “The problem is they can’t really win – some will say they only do it as a PR measure.” Dampier suggested that delaying the launch of the program could be a smart decision.
“I think it would be wise for Netflix to pull the show and bring it back in the summer when things are a little better,” he said while emphasizing the long road ahead for recovery. “The devastation is so severe that it will take years, if not decades, to rebuild some of the communities.”
As the release of Love, Meghan Approaches, the critique highlights the delicate balance that public figures must navigate in times of crisis. While the Sussexes’ efforts to help those affected by the fires are commendable, the debate over the timing of the show underscores the sensitivity required in such difficult times.
