Meghan Markle has been praised for transforming Buckingham Palace’s communications approach, and her influence has been credited with changing the way the royal family presents itself on social media. This conversation focused on Prince William’s recent “gushing” post about his wife, Princess Kate, which some experts believe was inspired by Meghan’s social media strategy.

Royal commentator Daniela Elser shared her thoughts in an article for news.com.au, noting that while a husband publicly declaring his love for his wife may be common for most people, “when does it have anything to do with Crown Inc. that is even remotely close to normal?” He referred to William’s post as “close to Old Faithful levels of enthusiasm,” a nod to his enthusiastic and public display of affection.

However, Elser pointed out that this change in communication strategy is due to Meghan Markle, stating: “There is only one person the Welsh have to thank for their penchant for permanent emotion, none other than the biscuit maker in -Boss, Meghan.”

He credited the Duchess of Sussex for revolutionizing Kensington Palace’s social media tactics, moving them away from rigid, traditional royal messaging towards a more personal and relatable approach.

Elser further explained: “It was the Duchess, with her instinctive knowledge of social media, who was the real revolutionary force behind the obvious shift in Kensington Palace’s communications strategy, away from rictus and towards the real thing.” He noted that it didn’t take long for the rest of the royal family to adopt Meghan’s style on social media.

“Today, not only the prince and princess’s accounts, but also Buckingham Palace X and King Charles’ Instagram accounts bear the fingerprints of the Duchess’ style.” she noticed. Despite his pivotal role in shaping how the royals relate to the public, Elser humorously quipped: “Somehow, I don’t think they’ve managed to write him a thank you card yet.”

Meghan’s influence on the royal family’s online presence marks a significant shift in their communications, with a focus on more authentic and engaging content, a strategy that has proven successful in connecting with audiences.
