Meghan Markle says ‘George Floyd’s life mattered’ in a heartfelt speech about American protests as she addressed graduates at her former school in LA
Meghan Markle has silenced today over the horrific murder of George Floyd, stating that his “life mattered.”
The Duchess of Sussex delivered a speech to college graduates at her old school, Immaculate Heart High School in Los Angeles, where she also mentioned other African Americans who were murdered by police in the U.S.
She said, “The life of George Floyd was important and the life of Breonna Taylor mattered and the life of Philando Castile mattered and the life of Tamir Rice mattered.”

Ms Markle also said that many others have been murdered by the police who would never have been named.
She said, “As we have all seen this past week, what is happening in our country and in our state and hometown LA is absolutely devastating.”
