Meghan Markle has been criticized for her cooking show. Love, Meghanand critics accuse her of being out of touch with the struggles many face. Royal commentator Maureen Callahan drew comparisons to “Marie Antoinette” in a scathing article for the daily mail.

Callahan began by highlighting the stark contrast between Markle’s lifestyle and the financial challenges many families face. “Most American families are still struggling in this economy, but here’s Meghan playing Marie Antoinette in a rented mansion with her ladybug cupcakes and her long hair hanging over these apparent edibles.” she wrote.

The criticism comes as Markle reportedly halted production on her show in light of the devastation caused by the Los Angeles wildfires. However, Callahan remains skeptical about Meghan’s motives, suggesting that the decision may not have been entirely hers.

“As for who made the call to postpone this turkey? Forgive me if I have doubts that Meghan did it unilaterally.” Callahan said. “In my opinion, it is most likely that Netflix, knowing how damaging the optics would be, has put a pause on this failure in waiting.”

Callahan didn’t hesitate to question Markle’s sincerity, saying: “I, for one, don’t buy the premise that Meghan cares much about anyone but herself. And the only thing likely to be cooked in that kitchen is Meghan’s reputation, burned beyond repair.”

This criticism adds to the increasing scrutiny Markle has faced over her public image and career moves. While his decision to pause the show was seen as a gesture of solidarity with those affected by the wildfires, critics like Callahan argue that it may be more of an optical issue than genuine concern.

Markle’s show, which was supposedly designed to focus on family, food and connection, has yet to debut on Netflix. It remains to be seen whether this backlash will affect its release, but the controversy underscores the challenges Markle faces in managing her public persona.
