Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s Colombia Trip Reportedly Ruffles Feathers in the Royal Family

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s recent trip to Colombia has reportedly not gone down well with Prince William and the rest of the royal family. Despite having lost their right to publicly represent the royals, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are being criticised for appearing to do just that during their visit to South America.

Royal expert Angela Levin told GB News“It doesn’t look good. They don’t represent royalty, but they try,” he added. “Unless they separate themselves completely, they have no right to do this. It will be very upsetting for the king and infuriating for William.”

Levin also drew comparisons between Meghan and Harry’s visit and a recent trip to Colombia by Sophie, the Duchess of Edinburgh. “Sophie Wessex went to meet the same woman that Meghan, the vice president, meets with. She talked about women. They weren’t treating him well and I went to see what could be done.

“I was stunned when I read that because she is close to the Royal Family, and they didn’t seem to mind her doing it,” Levin said. She added: “So it can’t be as bad as they say, but it is still dangerous.”

Meanwhile, Daily Mail Columnist Ephraim Hardcastle suggested that while the Sussexes’ trip to Colombia may be seen as controversial, it has not caused as much upset within the Royal Family as some might think. Hardcastle noted: “Harry and Meghan’s trip to Colombia later this year will not upset the King and the Prince of Wales.

They feared the Sussex duo might choose a different destination – a headline-stealing jaunt to the Paris Olympics.” The ongoing tension surrounding the Sussexes’ public appearances continues to spark debate, with royal watchers closely monitoring how these events affect their relationship with the Royal Family.

As Harry and Meghan take on their new roles outside the official royal circle, their actions remain the subject of intense scrutiny, particularly from those within the monarchy.
