Meghan Markle is facing fresh criticism, with accusations that she “stole” Prince Harry from his family and the UK, according to Majesty magazine editor-in-chief Ingrid Seward.
In a recent interview with Fox News Digital, Seward spoke candidly about Prince Harry’s struggles since stepping away from royal duties and moving to the United States with Meghan. “I think, unfortunately, they’re really not loved in the U.K., especially Meghan,” Seward stated bluntly.
She explained public sentiment towards Meghan Markle, saying: “People see her as a girl who took her husband away from her family, and she is a girl who abandoned her own family. Not everything, obviously not, but his father.”
Seward added that Meghan is also perceived to have influenced Harry’s strained relationship with his own family. “And now, she convinced Harry to abandon his father, and he belittled his own family in his autobiography. “I didn’t have to do that.”
These comments refer to Prince Harry’s memoir, Spare, which contained revelations about his experiences within the royal family, including tensions with his father, King Charles, and brother, Prince William. The book sparked controversy in the United Kingdom and further damaged the Sussexes’ reputation among some members of the public.
Seward believes these actions have had a significant impact on how the couple is perceived. “People really have a very, very low opinion of the Sussexes,” he said. However, despite the backlash, Seward noted that there remains a lingering affection for Prince Harry.
“I think there is still great affection for Harry. “People feel like he’s totally manipulated by his wife, which we don’t know, but I think people feel that.” The allegations add to the current scrutiny surrounding Meghan and Harry’s exit from royal life, a decision that has divided public opinion.
While some supporters admire the couple’s decision to seek independence, critics argue it came at the cost of family ties and Harry’s connection to his home country. Seward’s comments reflect a broader sentiment among royal watchers in the United Kingdom.
