Model and reality TV star Megan Skye Blancada faces prison time after pleading guilty to sexually abusing a teenage boy.

Blancada, 34, became emotional as she admitted the previously known charge of maintaining an unlawful sexual relationship with a child in the Adelaide Magistrates Court on Thursday Advertiser reported.

Under South Australian law, those found guilty of the offense face a maximum sentence of life behind bars.

An offender cannot have their sentence suspended, and they cannot serve their sentence under home supervision.

Blancada’s lawyer Andrew Graham read a statement outside court on behalf of his client.

“Ms Blancada just wants to say that she is extremely sorry for what she has done,” he said.

‘There is a teenage victim in this case and she hopes her guilty plea this morning will help ease any anxiety or stress he had about giving evidence.’

Blancada, who is from Salisbury East in Adelaide’s north, was charged in February with child sexual abuse and possession of child exploitation material.

Graham told the court his client would pursue the charge of possession of child exploitation material.

Court documents had previously alleged that the offenses were committed against a minor under the age of 16 at multiple locations between July 2021 and November 2023.

The 34-year-old bikini model, who starred in popular horror film Wolf Creek, claimed to have modeled for Mitsubishi and Bank SA.

She also stated in her online social media profiles that she appeared in the 2005 reality TV series ‘Who wants to be Supermodel’.

Parents of a private school last month demanded that Blancada be kept away from other children when she dropped off her son, who attends the school.

The parents claimed the school ignored their concerns about Blancada after they were made aware she had previously been accused.

Graham said Blancada has never breached bail and had not committed another offense.

He intended to argue that his client should have a good behavior bond as an alternative punishment for the crime.

Magistrate Brian Nitschke declined to revoke bail and ordered Blancada held until her next court date.

She will appear in the district court in April, where a date will be set for sentencing.

Blancada will face the Adelaide Magistrates Court in May on the child exploitation charge.
