The trendy restaurant of Megan Gale and her partner Shaun Hampson is DESTROYED by fire, just months after it was ransacked by thieves
Supermodel Megan Gale and fellow AFL star Shaun Hampson have been forced to close their Ascot Food + Wine restaurant in Moonee Ponds indefinitely, after it sustained damage in a major fire this week.
Fire Rescue Victoria crews were called to the scene at around 4:50pm Tuesday afternoon after a fire broke out in the kitchen area.
Firefighters were able to contain the blaze within minutes and emergency services confirmed the The place was vacant at the time of the fire.
Hampson announced that his restaurant was no longer in business on Tuesday afternoon, writing on Instagram: “Following a serious fire @ascotfoodandwine will sadly be closed until further notice.”
‘Apologies to everyone who had reservations. We will inform you when we know more. Thank you for your continued support.’

Meanwhile, the restaurant’s Instagram account uploaded a photo of fire trucks parked on the street and added the message: “It is with a heavy heart that we wish to inform everyone that we will be closed until further notice.”
“Everyone is safe and a big shout out to the people who came to our aid,” they added.
Hell came just months after Gale and Hampson’s restaurant was attacked by burglars in February.

The criminals broke into the restaurant and stole around $10-15,000 worth of liquor and $4,000 in cash, while leaving the office space in disarray.
They also stole the tip jar.
“Hospitality is challenging enough and to get in, it wasn’t so much what it took, it was the inconvenience it caused,” Hampson told the herald sun At the time.


Hampson announced that his restaurant was no longer in operation on Tuesday afternoon, writing to Instagram: “Following a serious fire @ascotfoodandwine will sadly be closed until further notice.”
“We’re already short-staffed, and all of a sudden you have an office that’s upside down…it’s getting kicked around when the industry is already down.”
Meanwhile, chef and co-owner Dave Stewart told the publication that he felt “violated” by the looting.
Just two years earlier, the restaurant had been forced to close for two and a half months due to restrictions placed on restaurants amid the coronavirus pandemic.
Gale and Hampson opened the cafe with Chef Stewart in December 2017.
