Meet Pixel, the Green Bay cat so creepy that even an exorcist tells his owner to “cage and pray” him!

An exorcist has warned a Wisconsin woman that her creepy-looking cat is possessed by a demon and that she should be kept in cages and prayed for.

Alyson Kalhagen, from Green Bay, was contacted after posting pictures of her cat Pixel online, intending to show off his ‘beauty and sophistication’.

The wide-eyed Cornish Rex with protruding canines raised alarm instead, and Kalhagen, 39, said she was quickly bombarded with messages from people fearful of her cat, who has been likened to a ‘sleep paralysis demon’.

The mum-of-one said most people are just curious about the two-year-old Pixel’s ‘unique looks’, but some of the comments came from a ‘place of real fear and hesitation’.

One such report was from an exorcist who told Kalhagen that a demon used her pet as a ‘puppet’ and instructed her to keep Pixel in a cage and pray for him ‘over and over’ to get the demon out.

I got a message from this person telling me that they were an ‘exorcist’ and that Pixel ‘had been’ taken over by a demon controlling his face ‘.

“I think he was trying to tell me that’s why my cat makes all those funny faces,” Kalhagen said.

In that photo, he’s kind of a blank look with his weird little grin on his face – like maybe the lights were on or no one was home, or that whoever was home wasn’t up to it.

‘All the time people say’ this is the scariest cat I’ve ever seen ‘,’ my sleep paralysis has come to life ‘and if they saw him in the middle of the night they would have a heart attack and that would scare them to death.

‘People say he is a’ demonic cat ‘who’ must be possessed ‘and that the devil has taken control of him. It’s kind of a recurring theme.

“I think it’s kind of funny because I usually just say ‘imagine coming face to face trying to scoop the litter box.’

Kalhagen appears to have ignored the exorcist’s unsolicited advice, but admits that Pixel has at times left her ‘shocked’ and has even chosen not to upload some of the pictures of the cat, as they are facial expressions’ too wild for public consumption ‘.

Despite its ghostly appearance, Pixel has 12,000 followers on social media and has even won awards.

An adorable photo she took of him in a bat costume, with his signature ‘insane face’, attracted a lot of interest online – and also won a Halloween photo contest at her local vet.

Kalhagen believes Pixel’s expressions ‘amaze people’, as well as his disproportionately large eyes, ears, and small head – all typical of his breed.

His black smoke coat has seen many liken him to a werewolf, but he has also been compared to a bat, kangaroo, and even a Tim Burton character.

“If people haven’t seen a cat like this before, they might be a little worried at first because they’re not quite sure what they’re looking at,” Kalhagen said.

‘I get a ton of’ that’s the ugliest cat I’ve ever seen ‘and sometimes things like’ that’s not a cat, that’s a rat ‘- I tend to just laugh because he’s a three-time champion.

‘I find it very funny when someone compares him to another animal.

‘Some people think he’s from outer space – I’ve had some people say’ that’s got to be an alien with those eyes. ‘

Kalhagen said she’s able to snap some hilarious photos of Pixel while he poses much of the time with his signature ‘awkward smile’ and shows off his shiny front clipper.

“I would like people to know that I am not forcing him to take these faces – these are actually the faces he makes every day,” she said.

‘He’s a very sweet boy – it’s funny because sometimes the faces he makes scare people.

‘I don’t think he realizes – he’s just making those funny faces.

‘I get gasps a lot when people notice him – there was a snow thrower outside and Pixel was sitting in front of the window and I heard the man say’ wow, you’re weird ‘.

‘Sometimes people just gasp and say’ wow, look at it ‘- it’s really quite funny.’

Pixel, who has had Kalhagen since he was 12 weeks old, has always gotten a shine on camera, meaning every photo she takes is ‘pure gold’ to his adoring fans.

I wanted to show the eloquence and sophistication of the breed, but the harder I tried, the more Pixel confirmed his personality.

‘That kind of showed through in the pictures – he didn’t quite agree with my vision and I was like’ you know what buddy, let’s do this’.

‘I think the curiosity factor initially attracts people and once they learn more about him, he has the kind of’ it ‘factor that seems to get through on camera.

‘He was just kind of born with it and I’m lucky to be able to ride.

‘I have received a few messages from people telling me that his photos make them so happy and that they love sharing them with their kids in the morning.

“It makes my day to hear that he brought a smile to someone – especially during these times.”
