Meet gorgeous model Shannon Lawson as she prepares for her 2021 Australian Survivor debut

Meet the stunning model and boxing instructor who join Australian Survivor: Shannon Lawson aims to ‘fight model stereotyping’ as she signs up for the 2021 Brains v Brawn season

Model Shannon Lawson is one of many joining the star-studded lineup of Channel Ten’s new season of Australian Survivor.

The 30-year-old Australian beauty has walked the runway during Miami Swim Week, creating campaigns for several brands, including Seafolly, Rockwear, Minkpink and Running Bare.

But in her career, Shannon admits that she has to fight the ‘model stereotype’ on a daily basis – telling The Daily Telegraph that’s exactly what she plans to do in the competition.

“As a model, I’m constantly facing rejection and harsh feedback, so there’s nothing I can’t do, and I feel pretty strong in my own skin,” she said on Sunday.

“Modelling is just a job and when you take off all the hair and the glamor and the outfits, you see me underneath and classify myself as a survivor.

‘I’ve been through family trauma and because I’m in the industry I’m in, I’m tough. I wanted to challenge myself in the toughest game there is.’

In addition to modeling, Shannon is also a boxing instructor at Hustle Boxing in Sydney.

The upcoming new Survivor Australia Brains v Brawn season will see a twist, with intelligent strategists excelling in their fields and competing against muscular athletes.

Shannon will join the show alongside award-winning author Wai Chim and AFL star Gavin Wanganeen.

A political cop named George, a prison guard named Dani and big wave surfer Felicity Palmateer will also star in the series.

The new season was filmed in the vast outback of Northwest Queensland.

It was announced in February that this season will be filmed locally after Ten received government funding to film closer to home due to the global pandemic.

The Location Incentive Program grant raised $3.9 million for the reality show and is expected to boost the local economy.
