Dozens of medical students at the University of Birmingham put on their best costumes in front of a costumed bar crawling around the city last night.
The event, which has been around for more than 20 years, is called The Hop and is held the week after Freshers for future doctors, nurses and other medical students.
During this year's Hop, the students exchanged their scrubs for more unusual ensembles, with some women getting inspiration from Britney Spears for their clothing and some touching the tiles as ducks or brides.
Others joined together to make impressive group costumes, including the Hungry Caterpillar, a Tesco meal deal, and Beefeaters complete with a cardboard-cut queen.
The revelers were cheerful when they showed off their creations, which took several hours to make, and enjoyed the cheap drinks offered in the city of West Midlands.
Some of the bars on the route sold a cocktail – two shots from Archers, two from Smirnoff and one from Malibu – called the Heidi for the event originally made by a Birmingham medical student who is now a GP in Stourbridge.
Teamwork! A group of friends made them watch the piece for the medical students' dressing-up bar in Birmingham by putting on antennas and jumping into a green tunnel, transforming themselves into the Hungry Caterpillar
All together now! Groups clubbed together to dress up as brides, left, while a trio was inspired by Britney Spears, right, to mimic some of the pop star looks of recent years on the student's night out
Another unusual choice seen in Birmingham last night was these students who put their art skills to the test and created a cardboard Tesco meal deal
Rocking! These students dressed as the heavy metal band Kiss, complete with full faces of makeup and cardboard and a guitar, for The Hop fancy dress bar crawl
Ducklings on the left, and children's favorite Mr. Bump, on the right, were other costumes to be seen during the pub crawl
Pose! Another group of medical students from the University of Birmingham dressed as Beefeaters and even took a cutout from the queen while enjoying their night out and getting the most out of the fun before the time began
The men also entered the dress-up spirit that hit the city like a giant baby on the left, and the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles on the right
Whose round is it? Five buddies dressed as a pack of Corona Extra bottles last night, with some even wearing beer glasses
Matchy! Students also went to the bars yesterday dressed as beekeepers, accessorising with paper bees and nets
Cardboard creations! Some medical students showed their artistic talents with impressive homemade costumes such as a giant gingerbread man on the left and a box of condoms on the right during the festivities last night
Also seen on the street last night was a woman dressed as the American flag on the left and a fan of board games mimicking the yellow look of Colonel Mustard of Cluedo, on the right
