A car lover is furious after a mechanic crashed his prized custom Holden and took it for a spin when he was dropped off for service.
The hood of the rare 1986 Commodore VL, estimated to be worth $150,000 with modifications, was completely cracked when it hit three parked cars.
The accident happened early Friday morning outside the garage in Ormeau on the Gold Coast, with the mechanic behind the wheel when he lost control of the car.

Police were called to the street and are investigating how the fender crash happened.
The owner of one of the parked cars, Rob Sardinha, said he was lucky his car had only minor damage.
“It’s not a great way to start a Friday morning, but it is what it is,” he told 7News.
“I fix cars, so if accidents didn’t happen, I wouldn’t have a job,” he added.
Images of the damaged car were shared online and generated dozens of comments.
“That’s heartbreaking for the owner,” said one person.
“The chassis is junk but take it all out, get a new casing and some paint and you’ll be on the road next week,” said another.
“I hope the driver is okay,” added a third.
Police were called and are investigating how the accident occurred.
It is understood that no charges have been filed at this stage.
