Meat Loaf, 72, sues Texas hotel during the fall, allowing him to be hospitalized

Meat Loaf, 72, sues a Texas hotel after “serious injuries” after the fall that left him in hospital for 42 days

Meat Loaf is suing a hotel for a fall that left him in the hospital for 42 days.

The 72-year-old singer and his wife Deborah Lee Gillespie have taken legal action against Hyatt Regency at Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport, where he tumbled one in May 2019 while preparing for a Q&A session during the Texas Frightmare Weekend.

In the complaint, the Bat Out Of Hell star claims that he “put his foot on a part of the curtain that had nothing underneath” and thereby lost his foot and fell off the stage.

Meat Loaf and his wife, who also sue Frightmare Weekend LLC, say he has sustained “serious injuries” because “there is no stage floor under his foot.”

According to legal documents obtained by People, the star was rushed to the first aid of the Baylor Scott & White Medical Center and stayed 12 days before being transferred to the Centennial Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee.

He spent another 30 days there with treatment for injuries to his neck, collarbone, and shoulder.

After his dismissal, he says he needed physiotherapy.

Meat – whose real name is Michael Lee Aday – holds the hotel and festival responsible for his injuries because “they didn’t do their job to provide a safe environment and ultimately Meat Loaf was seriously injured by their mistakes.”

The hotel and event are accused of being ‘negligent’ by setting up a stage that has allegedly created a ‘fall’ and ‘hidden danger’.

The legal documents stated: ‘When setting up the stage, the suspects hung curtains on a long frame at the rear of the stage.

“The curtains came along the bottom of the stage where the participants walked and hid where the stage ended.

“Therefore, if you look at the stage from the point of view of the participants, you could not determine how much room they had while walking along the curtains before they would fall from the back of the stage.”

MailOnline has contacted the representatives of Meat Loaf for comments.

Meanwhile, Meat Loaf recently told MailOnline that he was always able to get the best looking women, even when he was a “big bastard” (his words).

Meat admitted that he never had a problem getting beautiful women and many of his songs talk about his bravery.

“Most of my songs are … well,” he said. “They’re story songs and I’m really good at stories … I’m a sex god, honey.

“I can’t use rude language, but people ask me:” How can a fat M-F like you go out with all those pretty girls? “

“I said,” because I’m not thinking about what you’re thinking about.

‘Nowadays men don’t open the doors, they don’t do anything right. Truly the only thing they go out with is to have sex.

‘I have never done that. It is not my first option; never been – and that’s why I went out with all these beautiful women. “
