MANILA, Philippines — The Manila Central University (MCU) Pedestrian Bridge in Monumento Station, Caloocan City will be temporarily closed for a month, the Department of Transportation (DOTr) said Friday.
The closure will begin from October 2 to November 2 to make way for the construction and renovation of the Edsa Busway Monumento Station.
These projects include the installation of surveillance systems and the expansion and widening of existing structures in the area.
DOTr said it plans to make the pedestrian bridge and other structures in the station more accessible, especially for people with disabilities.
Due to the closure of the MCU Pedestrian Bridge, pedestrians and commuters are advised to use the Edsa-Boni Serrano Pedestrian Bridge (5th Street) in the meantime.
