To celebrate its 50th anniversary in the UK and Ireland, McDonald’s will be giving away free servings of the popular potato treats to fans across the country.

But there’s one major problem: you’ll have to be at one of the most popular festivals this season to get them.

The fast food giant hits the road to serve more than 2,000 free servings of fries each day to hungry festival-goers.

Along with the fries, McDonald’s is launching a range of exclusive products, including fanny packs, bucket hats and Wayfarer-style sunglasses, all free on a first-come, first-served basis.

This summer’s festival program where McDonald’s will hand out golden gifts includes: Parklife in Manchester from June 8-9, the Isle of Wight festival from June 20-23 and Wireless in London since July July 12 to 14.

The fast food chain will also visit Flackstock in Reading on July 22 and Leeds Festival from August 21 to 25.

McDonald’s will have a presence in both the main stadium and VIP areas, celebrating its guests as “Very Important Potatoes” (VIP).

The brand will also surprise festival-goers with special events to commemorate the Euro summer.

In addition to free fries, McDonald’s festival merchandise is about to become the season’s must-have fashion statement.

The unique collection, which includes McDonald’s brand bucket hats, cool sunglasses and fanny packs, will be given away, but quantities are limited, so act fast!

To add to the fun of the festival, McDonald’s will be unveiling its brilliant Golden Arches sequence statue, perfect for those Instagram-worthy moments.

Take a photo with the iconic symbol to commemorate your festival experience, and in the meantime, McDonald’s encourages fans to keep an eye on their social channels for free festival entry and exclusive giveaways.

Meanwhile, McDonald’s has been criticized by fans for “recycling” old menu items after the fast food giant unveiled its updated summer menu, which includes a number of familiar additions.

McDonald’s UK and Ireland will launch its new summer menu on May 29, but the announcement has already sparked criticism for what some customers perceive as a lack of innovation.

The new menu features an all-new burger, The Hat Trick Burger, which features three beef patties, two slices of cheese, grilled onions, mustard and ketchup on a sesame seed-glazed bun.

However, the excitement around the new item has been tempered by the fact that many summer menu items are repeats of old favorites.
