McDonald’s is preparing to celebrate National Cheeseburger Day with a special promotion, offering double cheeseburgers for just 50 cents.
The one-day deal, available on Wednesday, September 18, is accessible to customers who place orders through the McDonald’s app.
This promotion is part of a series of offers that the fast food giant has launched in recent months.
The company’s strategy appears to focus on providing value to customers while encouraging the use of its digital platforms.
In addition to its National Cheeseburger Day deal, McDonald’s has extended its $5 meal deal through December.

This popular deal includes your choice of a McDouble or McChicken sandwich, fries, Chicken McNuggets and a soft drink.
The fast-food giant made the decision after 80 percent of local franchisees voted to extend the deal through the end of the year, CNBC reported.
“The extension of the $5 meal deal and the other offerings we’re announcing for our fall lineup are just a few of the ways we’re working hard to offer great meals at a fair price,” Joe Erlinger, president of McDonald’s USA, said in a news release Thursday.
McDonald’s began offering the $5 meal deal on June 25 at participating U.S. restaurants in what was initially supposed to be a four-week special.
In addition to its National Cheeseburger Day deal, McDonald’s has extended its $5 meal deal through December.
“Courage has always been part of our DNA,” Erlinger said in a June 20 statement.
‘We’re focused on living up to that legacy and offering delicious, affordable options that customers can enjoy anytime they walk through our doors, stop by our drive thru or place an order through our app.’
Erlinger confirmed that McDonald’s created the agreement after “zig-zagging around the country” and participating in focus groups with its customers, in an interview with TODAY at the time.
The company has also launched a long-term promotion called ‘Free Fries Fridays’.
This offer, which began in July and will continue through 2024, gives customers free medium fries with a minimum $1 purchase every Friday.
