McDonald’s is tapping into ’90s nostalgia with its new meal, which it’s dubbed the Happy Meal for adults.

Starting today, fans of the fast-food giant will be able to purchase a new collectible menu that comes complete with one of six collectible cups designed to remind diners of their childhood.

The mugs feature designs from the company’s best collaborations over the years, from Barbie to Hello Kitty, Peanuts, Shrek, Jurassic Park, Beanie Babies and Hot Wheels.

The mugs are designed to highlight iconic collectibles from different eras, such as the Grimace mug in 1976, Pet Lovin’ Barbie in 1999 or Shrek from ‘Shrek the Third’ in 2007.

The promotion “will inspire fans to relive those special moments and create nostalgic joy for a new generation,” McDonald’s said.

Customers can get the cups in stores, online and at the drive-thru when they purchase a collection meal at participating locations.

At breakfast, a collection meal includes a sausage and egg sandwich, hashbrowns, and a hot coffee.

At lunch, fans can choose between 10 Chicken McNuggets or a Big Mac along with fries and a drink.

“There’s an undeniable thrill when you get that elusive McDonald’s collectible or the last piece to complete your collection,” said company executive Morgan Flatley.

“We’re bringing back some of our most cherished memories with a twist, giving fans a keepsake they can hold in their hands,” said company executive Morgan Flatley.

‘These new collectible mugs commemorate some of our most unforgettable designs and global collaborations over the years, allowing long-time fans to relive cherished moments and helping a new generation create their own lasting memories.’

McDonald’s is also creating an augmented reality experience on Snapchat and hosting events in California and New York to celebrate the new promotion.

In New York City, fast food fans can use their cups to get free roller coaster rides at the famous Coney Island amusement park.

The effort to tap into customers’ nostalgia marks a departure from the company’s focus on value meals this summer.

Last month, McDonald’s extended its $5 meal deal in an attempt to attract more customers put off by price increases.

McDonald’s isn’t the only fast food brand bringing back products from its past.

Chick-Fil-A announced that a fan favorite will return to menus for the first time in 13 years.

Starting August 26, the fast-food chain will bring back its beloved banana pudding shake.

The shake features Chick-Fil-A’s Icedream dessert, vanilla wafer crumbs and banana, as well as a whipped cream topping and a cherry.

The refund is only available for a limited time, while supplies last, but no date has been set for its removal from menus.
