McDonald’s has quietly raised prices on its most popular menu items as Australians struggle with rising inflation and a cost-of-living crisis.
Daily Mail Australia has compared the prices of iconic items such as the Big Mac, the Quarter Pounder and the Happy Meal in 2019 and 2024.
Most menu items have increased by at least $2 and cost more when ordered through delivery services like UberEats rather than in-store.
In 2019, the humble cheeseburger cost just $3.15. Today, it costs $4.95 on its own and costs $8.40, $9.20, and $10.00 when ordered as a small, medium, or large meal.
The Big Mac, which cost $5.65 in 2019, now costs $7.90 on its own and $12.35, $13.15 and $13.95 in small, medium and large meals.
The Quarter Pounder, which cost $5.65 in 2019, now costs $8 on its own and $12.30, $13.10 and $13.90 in a small, medium or large meal.
The McChicken, which used to cost $5.65, now costs $7.35 on its own and $12.15, $12.95 and $13.75 for a small, medium or large meal.
Prices for popular McDonald’s items such as the Big Mac, cheeseburger and McChicken have soared once again amid Australia’s deepening cost of living crisis.
A Happy Meal, which cost $5.30 in 2019, now costs between $5 and $8 depending on the McDonalds location and the type of Happy Meal.
A soft serve with flakes, which used to cost 60 cents, now costs $1.50.
Six Chicken McNuggets, previously $7.30, now cost $8.10, $11.35, $12.15 and $12.95 in small, medium and large meals.
Pricing of menu items varies slightly between stores, as in some cases franchisees are responsible for setting and adjusting prices.

On Uber Eats, a single-serving cheeseburger is $5.65, a Big Mac is $8.70, a Quarter Pounder is $8.80, a Happy Meal is $8.85, or $11.45 for Chicken McNuggets.
A McChicken costs $8.85 and a Filet-O-Fish costs $8.10.
