The company announced Tuesday that it is acquiring startup conversational technology with a plan to integrate its systems with services such as drive-thru menus, self-ordering kiosks and the mobile app.
It comes just a few months after the fast food giant began rolling out AI-driven menus at hundreds of locations in the United States, using the technology to make more precise menu suggestions.

President and CEO of McDonald's Steve Easterbrook said the latest acquisition will "make it easier and more enjoyable for crew members to serve guests."
In March, the company acquired the Israeli digital startup Dynamic Yield with similar plans to improve the customer experience with AI.
The AI menus can suggest items based on the time of day, weather, or recent trends, such as displaying a hashbrown alongside a cheeseburger – a combination that recently went viral on reddit.
