Maya Jama has responded to fans who accused her of moving on with her friend following her recent split from ex-boyfriend Stormzy.
The Love Island host, 29, and the rapper, 30, confirmed their split is “final” in a statement last week, after going their separate ways in 2019 and reconnecting in August last year.
But just a week later, Maya was forced to set the record straight and deny that she had ever been in a relationship with her friend Chunkz.
She took to Instagram over the weekend to share snaps from a new ad campaign for Google’s Gemini, alongside YouTuber Chunkz, 28.
The internet celebrity, whose real name is Amin Mohamed, has been friends with Maya for several years and they are said to have recently tied the knot.

Sharing a series of behind-the-scenes photos from the ad to promote the app, Maya can be seen laughing with Chunkz and folding a bouquet of flowers.
But several of her followers seemed to get the wrong idea and took to the comments to wonder if the pair were dating.
They wrote: ‘Chunkz finally got his chance? I know Chunkz is really happy right now come on Chunkz now is your time.’
‘My boy Chunkz always comes along after a split or a breakup; Chunks saw Stormzy’s story and thought, ‘Now’s my chance.’
But Maya hit back, responding to a comment that read: “icl I feel like she’s just using Chuntz as a rebound celebrity.”
She replied: “We’re friends who filmed an ad together… are you crazy?” followed by a crying laughing emoji.
Several of his fans also came to his defense, writing, ‘People just ignore that Chunkz already has a girl in his life… The comments section doesn’t pass the vibe test.’
“Gosh, these comments from women and men can be friends, Yuno. I think we should all mind our own business and listen to what they said about respecting their privacy and giving them space.”

Meanwhile, Maya, who is at the top of her game as the face of luxury fashion brand Dolce & Gabbana, an ambassador for Rimmel London and is being sought after by streaming giant Netflix, is focused on her career at the moment.
A source close to the couple revealed: ‘Maya and Stormzy are on very different pages when it comes to their future.
‘Stormzy was eager to establish himself, while Maya is enjoying her career, is ambitious and wants to prioritise achieving as much as she can.
‘She also loves to travel and party, but at just 29 she’s not ready for the next chapter yet.’
The couple’s statement read: ‘We’ve been laughing as we write this because we never, ever, in a million years thought we would be the couple to announce a breakup.
But Maya hit back, responding to a comment that read: “icl I feel like she’s just using Chuntz as a celebrity rebound” and writing: “We’re friends who filmed an ad together… are you crazy?” followed by a crying laughing emoji.

‘But for the sake of clarity and, more importantly, to allow us the space and grace we need so we can both navigate this next part of our lives with peace, we thought it would be best.
‘We fell madly in love in 2014, split in 2019, and then spent five years living apart.
‘We decided to give it one last try in August 2023, and we’ve spent the past year doing everything we can to make it work; however, we recently decided to call it quits.
Maya and Stormzy made separate appearances at Wimbledon earlier this month, with the rapper attending Evian’s Mountain of Youth VIP suite alone on Thursday, while Maya partied into the early hours at celebrity hangout Chiltern Firehouse.
They were last seen together holding hands on July 5 at the Formula 1 Grand Prix at Silverstone, where Stormzy put in a standout performance.
The couple also attended the Glastonbury festival last month before Maya flew by helicopter to the ITV studios, where she presents Love Island spin-off show Aftersun live on a Sunday night.
In recent weeks, Stormzy has launched House Party, a bar he co-founded in Soho, London, which has been transformed to feel and look like an old-school house party.
Maya shared a video on her Instagram Story from the star-studded launch night on June 6, where the couple were joined by the likes of Louise Redknapp and Julie Adenuga.
