Love Island fans have suggested Maya Jama was feeling emotional about her recent breakup during a recent episode of the ITV2 show.
During the Casa Amor reunion, the 29-year-old presenter, who usually appears well-composed, could be seen wiping tears from her eyes.
Viewers have said the news of their split has “brought light” to an unusually emotional time for the presenter.
The emotional moment takes on new meaning now that viewers of the show know what the star had been going through during filming.
Maya and Stormzy, 30, shared a joint statement on Wednesday announcing that they had recently secretly split.

And now, an episode of Love Island has been cleared up for fans, as the usually well-composed Love Island host, 29, struggled to hold back tears during a recent reconciliation.
They confirmed that this split is “final” after having gone their separate ways after a five-year relationship in 2019 and reconnecting last August.
Sources told MailOnline that the couple were conflicted about when to settle down, with Stormzy keen to have children sooner rather than later.
Maya, who is at the height of her career as the face of luxury fashion brand Dolce & Gabbana, an ambassador for Rimmel London and is sought after by streaming giant Netflix, wanted to wait until she had babies.
A source close to the couple revealed: ‘Maya and Stormzy are on very different pages when it comes to their future.’
‘Stormzy was keen to settle down and start a family, while Maya is enjoying her career, is ambitious and wants to prioritise achieving as much as she can.’
‘She also loves to travel and party, but at just 29 she’s not ready for the next chapter yet.’
Maya and Stormzy made separate appearances at Wimbledon last week, with the rapper attending Evian’s Mountain of Youth VIP suite alone on Thursday.
Meanwhile, Maya partied until the early hours of the morning at celebrity hangout Chiltern Firehouse, discreetly leaving the venue at 4.30am on Friday.
They were last seen together holding hands on July 5 at the Formula 1 Grand Prix at Silverstone, where Stormzy put in a standout performance.
The emotional reunion takes on new meaning now that viewers of the show know what the star had been going through during filming.
The couple also attended the Glastonbury festival last month before Maya flew by helicopter to the ITV studios, where she presented Love Island spin-off show Aftersun live on a Sunday night.
He last appeared on screen during Tuesday night’s instalment, where he tasked Welsh couple Ciaran Davies and Nicole Samuel with eliminating one of the three couples voted least compatible by the public.
MailOnline has contacted representatives for Maya and Stormzy for comment.
Maya and Stormzy first split in 2019 amid speculation the rapper had been unfaithful, later confessing in the song Lessons: “I looked at the information and then I thought you’d dig it up.”
On Instagram, they said: ‘We fell madly in love in 2014, split in 2019 and then spent five years living our lives apart.’
“We decided to give it one last try in August 2023, and we have spent the past year doing everything we could to make it work; however, we recently decided to call it quits.”
“We were 21 and 20 when we met, both early in our careers, and we spent five years growing together and five years growing apart, so this latest attempt required a lot of analyzing, relearning and unlearning. We tried it and it didn’t work, and that’s OK.”
