Disney and Pixars Inside out 2 has dropped a teaser trailer featuring a new emotion, Fear, voiced by Maya Hawke, making an unexpected appearance and going down the rabbit hole of Riley’s now teenage mind.
“Where can I leave my things?” Fear prompts the other voices in Riley’s head, her arms naturally filled with a slew of baggage as animated characters once again play out physical representations of her emotions in the sequel.
To make room for the new character, Riley’s mind also undergoes a surprise demolition to make room for Anxiety, alongside an ensemble voice cast featuring Amy Poehler as Joy, Phyllis Smith as Sadness, Lewis Black as Anger, Tony Hale as Fear and Liza Lapira as Disgust .
Inside out is considered a high point for Pixar, whose original, crowd-pleasing film in the franchise grossed $857.6 million worldwide and featured a then-11-year-old Riley (Kaitlyn Dias) as she traveled across the country with her family.
“Our little girl is growing up so fast,” Riley’s mother says early in the trailer, as her parents give the young woman a big hug after she endures a move to San Francisco. But it’s not long before the other emotions in the teen’s tumultuous mind no longer know what to do with Anxiety when her animated character suddenly shows up and, not wanting to take a back seat to anyone, stirs things up in the headquarters where Riley’s home is located. memories.
Directed by Kelsey Mann and produced by Mark Nielsen, Inside out 2 will be released in theaters in the summer of 2024.
