‘We are making, basically, eight films. The episodes are very long,” Maya said about the eight episodes that will make up the next installment of Stranger Things.

Her conversation with Podcrushed hosts Penn Badgley, Nava Kavelin and Sophie Ansari comes after she announced her latest project in October.

Maya has been hired to narrate the audiobook of Joan Didion’s 1968 book of essays, Slouching Towards Bethlehem.

The iconic literary endeavor of the late author, who died at age 87 in 2021, includes nonfiction works On Keeping a Notebook and Goodbye to All That.

In a statement shared by People magazine, baby Nepo, whose parents are Ethan Hawke and Uma Thurman, said: ‘I’ve always been a big fan of Joan Didion’s writing.

“Many of the essays in Slouching Towards Bethlehem were written when she was in her twenties, and it has been an incredible experience to be able to spend so much time with her words and feel a sense of camaraderie almost sixty years later.”

He added: “It is an honor to have the opportunity to chronicle his brilliant work and introduce his iconic prose to a new generation.”

Maya’s previous works in audiobook include the memoir Bravey by Alexi Pappas and American Tabloid by James Ellroy.

In an interview with The Times, published in June, Hawke confessed that she feels comfortable being lumped in with other children of Hollywood stars who are beneficiaries of nepotism.

He added: “I saw two paths when I started, and one of them was: change your name, get a nose job, and look for open casting roles.”

The rising actress and singer stated, “It’s okay to be made fun of when you’re in thin air.” It’s a lucky place to be.

“My relationships with my parents are really honest and positive, and that supersedes anything anyone might say about it.”
