Max George has claimed he was engaged in a furious feud with his then-manager Scooter Braun after becoming ‘frustrated’ with his career.
The 32-year-old singer admitted that his behavior on a drunken night out in New York ended his working relationship with the music mogul, even after he apologized profusely.
Max joined stars like Justin Bieber, Ariana Grande and Demi Lovato when he was signed to Scooter in 2014 after his band The Wanted decided to take a hiatus, and despite releases, two singles failed to make a huge impact in the U.S.

In Tom Green’s podcast Dangerous Dinners, Max explained that he signed with Scooter as a solo artist after managing The Wanted.
But the Strictly Come Dancing star admitted it wasn’t perfect to be managed by the mogul as he was left to his own devices most of the time.
He said, ‘However, there is a downside to having a manager who has such great artists because you are not the priority, so you have to take care of yourself a lot, which I found out when I was in LA.
‘Scooter has helped me a lot in certain things. But yes, it was quite lonely at times. ‘

When Tom asked if he and Scooter were ever going to party in the United States, Max admitted that he collided with his ex-manager on a night out in New York after The Wanted broke up.
He explained, “I remember having a fight with him when I was in New York one night when I was an apprentice.
And I always apologized for my actions that night. It was frustration that the band had ended. ‘
He added: ‘Oh man I went to a club one night. I actually went in one. And yes, our relationship wasn’t great after that to be honest. ‘
‘I was leather’: He said, ‘Oh man, I went to a club one night. I actually went in one. And yes, our relationship wasn’t great after that to be honest ‘
As Tom noted that nightclub rows are “ hard enough ” because you have a hard time hearing the person you’re bumping into, Max admitted that the argument ended his working relationship with Scooter.
He added: ‘Yeah, it’s pretty clumsy right? I also couldn’t remember anything. Andy Brown who was a friend of mine, he was in the band Lawson and he’s the one who dragged me away.
And the next day he was like, ‘buddy, you don’t have a manager now.’ I was like “f ***** g hell man.”
MailOnline has contacted Scooter Braun representatives for comment.
But it wasn’t all bad times for Max during his time in LA, as he also remembered a night out with Justin, Ariana, Ed Sheeran and Tom Hanks.
Meeting the stars! But it wasn’t all bad times for Max during his time in LA, as he also remembered a night out with Justin, Ariana, Ed Sheeran and Tom Hanks.
He explained, ‘I actually remember one time, Scooter said’ come for a pint at Rock and Reilly’s’ that was one of my locals when I lived in LA and I was like ‘okay.’ ‘
And I got there and I ended up, I just sat there and after I just had a drink with him, I went out for a whole night with Scooter, Tom Hanks, Ariana and Justin Bieber. Oh and Ed Sheeran.
And we were all there to have a drink. And then we went back to the scooter home. Not Justin and Ed, but I Ariana and Tom Hanks went back to the Scooters house and I played Cluedo with Tom Hanks. ‘
Asked if the Oscar-winning actor was’ nice ‘, Max said,’ So nice. I mean, I talk like he’s my best friend. I said four words to him. But yeah that was cool. Those were the benefits of Scooter. ‘
The Wanted first confirmed in 2014 that they had decided to split, and Max later signed a solo record deal with the band’s manager, Scooter.
Despite releasing a single in 2018 and landing a guest spot on Glee, the star failed to make a huge impact in the United States and has since returned to the UK.
During the interview, Max also provided an update on his bandmate Tom Parker, who is battling a terminal brain tumor.
He said, ‘He’s had his first bout of chemo and radiotherapy to which he’s responded incredibly. The doctors were actually shocked at how well he responded. All of his tumors have been suppressed, so yes, he’s in the best of hands.
And he himself, Tom, nothing will slow him down. When you talk to him everything is normal, and that’s all he wants is normalcy.
‘Obviously he just had a second child that he needs to pay so much attention to, he’s doing well, he’s doing well. Obviously it’s a terrible thing to happen so young and I couldn’t think of anyone who deserves it less than Tom. ‘
