Country music band The Mavericks have cancelled upcoming shows after frontman Raul Malo revealed he had been diagnosed with cancer.
The band announced this week that several dates on this month’s tour will be canceled or rescheduled, after Malo, 58, announced his diagnosis in a Instagram video.
He said the band had been on a “health regimen” and underwent a medical examination, which eventually led to the discovery of “two cancerous spots” in their gastrointestinal system.
“We’re going to fight this with all our might,” Malo said. “Take care of yourselves, stay healthy, and I’ll see you down the road.”
