Mauricio Umansky described how cameras started rolling immediately after the world learned he’d split from Kyle Richards — and whether he’s spoken with the Hiltons since Paris Hilton slammed him for discussing their family feud.

“It was real, it was as real as it could be, it’s reality TV, we decided to just be vulnerable and open and allow it to happen on television.
“We hope the audience can learn from how we handle what we handle, but that’s definitely going to be reflected in the show.”
The star also addressed the anger that erupted when he discussed his departure from Hilton & Hyland on his show, admitting he was “sad” that the Hilton family was upset by what he shared.
However, he doesn’t believe he said “anything wrong.”
“I’m sad they’re angry. In the end, I don’t feel like I said anything wrong, I just related what happened in the story and at the end of the day, they were two men of cases that made two business decisions.
Mauricio explained that ultimately what happened between him and Rick Hilton was a “business decision” and that he was simply trying to do what was in the best interest of his family and his future.
“So, you know, everyone makes decisions in life and then you live with them,” he added. “I just don’t think it’s that bad. I’m sorry they’re hurt, but I hope it goes away soon because we and the family should be good.
Mauricio also revealed that he hasn’t spoken with the family since Paris Hilton criticized him on social media for speaking out about her departure.

Asked if there had been any discussions with the Hiltons about repairing the relationship: “There have been no discussions about that sort of thing, I mean, quite honestly, I haven’t spoken to them at over the past two days since Paris made this comment.
“Again, I have no hard feelings and I certainly don’t feel like I said anything where they should have any hard feelings. I hope it works out and I didn’t mean any harm.

Today, Mauricio is a real estate broker in his own firm, but he previously worked with Paris’ father, Rick, at the Hilton & Hyland real estate agency.
In his series Buying Beverly Hills, Mauricio recounted how he left Hilton & Hyland in 2011 to start a rival agency, sparking an explosive rift between Kyle and his family, to the point where the Hiltons stopped speaking to him.
Paris slammed her uncle for “using the name Hilton every chance he got to plug his lame show” after it emerged he spoke about the feud on his show.
“My father is a consummate gentleman and has always chosen the higher path,” she wrote on Instagram. “He would never speak negatively about his family, especially in the press. Frankly, we’re all sick and tired of him using the name Hilton every chance he gets to plug his lame show. It’s already enough ..’

The dashing reality TV star explained that he wanted to become a partner in the company but “got kind of screwed over by Hilton & Hyland.”
He laid out his version of events: “And when I say, ‘f***ed,’ you know, today I’m happy, but there were 100 agents at Hilton & Hyland. They were making a billion dollars for the first time a year, I was 19.6% of their production, and I went to Rick and said, “I’d really like to have some equity, wouldn’t you ? And be a partner.”
Hearing Mauricio say it, Rick then took the matter to Hilton & Hyland Chairman Jeffrey Hyland and came back with no response.
“Then I went home,” Mauricio said, “I talked to Kyle, I told him, ‘This is really going to cause a lot of stress between you and your sister and your family, and I don’t want to do that. gesture to leave and start a business if you are not comfortable.

Kyle, however, “was 100% supportive” and Mauricio parted ways with Hilton & Hyland to launch his own business, The Agency.
His former bosses, he remembers, asking him: “How did you not warn us or report a problem? which prompted Mauricio to respond in disbelief: “Careful? »
In a confessional, Mauricio said diplomatically: “I think Hilton & Hyland is an incredible company and I would never be caught talking bad about them because I don’t have a bad opinion of them and I’m Rick’s brother-in-law.”
He added: “But unfortunately it turned out badly because it really affected the family – Kyle more than anyone. You know, his family stopped talking to him, but they understood that what had been done to me was hurt and she stayed by my side, and ultimately, I needed her.
