Before her mother Denise Welsh confirmed the news on Wednesday’s Loose Women, Gabbriette strongly hinted that she will “marry” the 1975 singer on Tuesday.
Denise, who met Gabbriette five months into their romance, gushed: “We couldn’t be happier. She is everything I would want in a daughter-in-law.
Denise explained that the couple had broken the news to their loved ones “a few weeks ago.”
“I’ve known for a few weeks that Matty got engaged,” she told her co-stars. “They went to see her friends Charli and George in New York.”
‘I woke up this morning and saw they had put it on Instagram. Instagram official, she is engaged to Gabbriette. She’s from Los Angeles, she’s absolutely beautiful,” before strangely adding, “she has a rat.”
The proud mum revealed that Matty had her signature ring made, gushing: “Black diamond, he made it for her and she couldn’t be more excited.”
