Matthew Perry’s heartbroken mother recalled one of their last conversations on the one-year anniversary of the Friends star’s ketamine overdose death.
Suzanne Morrison revealed that they had their first heart-to-heart conversation in a long time just before he passed away at the age of 54 at his home in Los Angeles on October 28, 2023.
Perry was an avid real estate collector and his mother revealed that she had shown him one of her new homes just before she died, sparking a heart-to-heart conversation.
“He went through a pretty interesting period right before he died, when he was showing me one of his new houses,” Suzanne said. NBC’s Today Show.
“He came up to me and said, ‘I love you so much and I’m so happy to be with you now.'” It was almost like it was a premonition or something.

Five people, including two doctors, a live-in assistant and an alleged dealer known as the ‘Ketamine Queen’, have been arrested in connection with the death of Matthew Perry.
‘I didn’t think about it at the time but how long had it been since we had a conversation like that? It’s been years.’
“What was going to happen at his side was inevitable and he felt it very strongly,” he added.
“But he said, ‘I’m not afraid anymore,’ and that worried me… I think it was this new medication he was taking.”
Suzanne spoke about her son’s final days with her partner, Perry’s stepfather, Keith Morrison, and three of her sisters.
Keith recalled the devastating moment they received the news that Perry had died.
“Someone called Suzanne and just said, ‘Matthew is dead,'” she told Today.
Recalling every parent’s worst fear, Suzanne said the caller told her, “Matthew is dead.” Your son is dead.’
Suzanne added that she knew her son was “very lonely in his soul.”
“I’m a very lucky woman, but there was a technical problem, a problem that I couldn’t overcome,” she said. “You have to stop blaming yourself because it destroys you.”

In his last post on his Instagram, Perry shared images of him in his pool where he would later be found dead.
Keith said he believed Perry was sober at the time of his death.
But Suzanne shook her head no when Savannah Guthrie asked her if she thought her late son had been left in the car.
The couple said they welcomed the arrests of the people who allegedly supplied Perry with the ketamine that killed him.
“I got emotional,” Suzanne said, as Keith issued a warning to those involved.
“What I hope is that the people who have gotten into the business of supplying people with drugs that will kill them are now on notice,” he said.
“No matter what your professional credentials are, you’re falling, honey.”
Doctors Salvador Plasencia, 42, and Mark Chavez, 54, alleged drug dealers Jasveen ‘Ketamine Queen’ Sangha, 41, and Eric Fleming, 54, and Perry’s live-in assistant Kenneth Iwamasa, of 59, have been charged.
Keith added that he thought Perry “seemed sober” when he died, although Suzanne appeared to shake her head in disagreement.
“I don’t even know if in his mind he had relapsed,” said Perry’s sister, Madeline Morrison.
Another sister, Caitlin Morrison, remembered Perry as someone who was “in a bad mood all the time but funny all the time.”
Jasveen Sangha, 41, is best known as the “Ketamine Queen” of North Hollywood. Prosecutors say she is the lynchpin of an “extensive underground criminal network” that supplied the Friends star with the ketamine that killed him in October 2023.
Doctor Salvador Plasencia, 42, has also been charged with conspiracy to distribute ketamine.
Perry’s former assistant, Kenneth Iwamasa, was also charged and admitted to administering the fatal dose of ketamine that killed the Friends actor.
Jasveen Sangha, 41, also known as the “Ketamine Queen” of North Hollywood, is also charged. Investigators said they discovered a ‘drug emporium’ in his home during a raid in March 2024.
“When the people he loved were successful or afraid, he would do anything for you,” she said, fighting back tears.
‘Really, all he ever wanted was to love and be loved. “He struggled a lot to feel peace and I think he got to a point where he felt it.”
Perry’s family established the Matthew Perry Foundation, a charity that aims to support others suffering from addiction, just days after his death.
In a statement to People, they said: “It is important for us, as a family, to honor Matthew’s legacy.”
“The potential the Matthew Perry Foundation has to help those suffering from this disease is something we are proud to bring to the world.”
