Texas superfan Matthew McConaughey had a birthday to remember on Saturday as his beloved Longhorns claimed victory over the Kansas State Wildcats.
McConaughey, who turned 54 this weekend, was at the home of Darrell K Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium to watch the Longhorns face the Wildcats in a matchup of the Big 12 co-leaders.
And in the end, the home side made sure it was a birthday well spent for him, with Texas winning 33-30 in extra time, creating jubilant scenes after the game.
The acting superstar, a Texas native, was at the center of the Longhorns celebrations and even led a rendition of his famous Wolf of Wall Street chest bump as he congratulated the winning side.
Before the game, McConaughey was even presented with a cake to celebrate his 54th birthday when he appeared on FOX Sports’ Big Noon Kickoff pregame show.

He was also given a bottle of tequila as a gift during the broadcast, before joking: “It’s not too early to start sipping, is it?”
Born and raised in Texas, McConaughey is a longtime fan of the Longhorns and has been spotted at games many times over the years.
The award-winning actor recently spoke out following their heartbreaking loss to Oklahoma in this year’s Red River Rivalry in Dallas.
“Wow, that was a rollercoaster there, man,” he said after the game. “That was tough, dude. We ended up leaving too much time on the clock, didn’t we?
“Great gamesman, hats off to OU. Team took the lead. They played great emotional football, well played, Sooners. See you next year. Until then, mean times and all times. Hook them.’
McConaughey was left with a different emotion at the end of Saturday’s game against Kansas State, which keeps Texas atop the standings heading into the Big 12 championship game and the program’s first national title since 2009.
Jonathon Brooks ran for 112 yards and a touchdown for Texas, which also got an early 54-yard scoring run from CJ Baxter.

Howard passed for 327 yards and four touchdowns for the Wildcats, two of which were to Phillip Brooks.
Texas appeared to be in complete control midway through the third quarter until consecutive turnovers — an interception and a fumble — set up two quick Howard touchdown passes.
‘It tested us. It tested our resilience,” Texas coach Steve Sarkisian said. “It tested our culture to stay together.”
