Cybertruck suicide bomber Matthew Livelsberger was “unstable, misogynistic” and emotionally “abusive” to his first wife, a friend of the active Green Beret’s ex says.
“I never thought of him as stable or solid,” Stacie Willssens, a close friend of the active-duty Green Beret’s now ex-wife, Sara, told DailyMail.com.
“I always felt like he was intimidated by Sara’s strength and beauty and all that. He was a little insecure, and she wasn’t in a great place in life, and he wasn’t supporting her…to become happy and healthy.”
Wilssens became close friends with Livelsberger’s first wife, Sara, when the couple lived together in Colorado Springs. She told DailyMail.com that she first met her friend’s then-husband around 2014.
He and Sara had known each other through high school in Ohio and reconnected later in life, eventually marrying, Wilssens said — but she never approved of Livelsberger’s treatment of his wife.
Wilssens, a retired nurse at a psychiatric treatment center, said Livelsberger “didn’t like Sara being close to anyone, and he didn’t support her in anything.”
They were also on opposite sides of the political spectrum.
Both Wilssens and Sara Livelsberger (née Wilson) had more liberal political views; Sara “campaigned for Bernie (Sanders) and then worked for Hillary (Clinton)’s campaign.”
Livelsberger, meanwhile, was “an avid Trump supporter … so we were both on opposite sides in that regard,” she said.

Davis’ second wife Jennifer is pictured. She reportedly left him recently, days after the birth of the couple’s child, fearing he was cheating on her.
“Doing it in front of a Trump hotel is a wrench that I don’t really understand because I know he’s a Trump supporter,” Wilssens said.
Willssens told DailyMail.com that she blocked Livelsberger “years ago” and that the couple divorced in 2018. His first wife remarried and now lives out of state with her new family and child.
Divorcing Sara and leaving was the best thing she could have done,” Wilssens said.
Given her personal experience with Livelsberger, Wilssens said she believed personal issues, rather than political ideology, brought Livelsberger to Vegas.
“I never thought of him as a stable, solid person… I never thought anything like that, but I can clearly imagine there are problems in his new relationship, and he’s just decompensated.”
All indications are that Livelsberger is undeniably having personal problems. After the demise of his first marriage, he dated Alicia Arritt.
After the relationship with Arritt, Livelsberger married Jennifer Davis.
She reportedly left him shortly before the recent birth of their child because she feared he was cheating on her.
Livelsberger also contacted Arritt again shortly before his death, which surprised her.

Police found credit cards, his passport and military ID on him, but they are still calling him a person of interest as they wait for DNA confirmation
He texted his ex on Sunday after renting the Cybertruck, in which he would later commit suicide, writing, “I rented a Tesla Cybertruck. It’s the ***.’
“I feel like Batman or halo,” he later texted, sharing photos and videos of the futuristic vehicle.
Davis’ Facebook profile lists her address as Germany, but police and officers raiding this week raided another address in Colorado Springs where the couple was listed together.
On Thursday, Colorado police revealed that Livelsberger shot himself in the head shortly before blowing up the Cybertruck.
He had rented the vehicle from Turo, an app that allows users to rent cars from strangers in a similar way to Airbnb and filled them with explosives.
The sturdy construction of the $80,000 SUV allowed the Trump hotel to escape undamaged despite the force of the blast, although seven people were injured.
No motive for the brutality has been given. Livelsberger is described as a “Rambo-type” soldier who was awarded five Bronze Stars for his service.
His fellow Green Berets are said to be stunned by the killing. His uncle Dean Livelsberger said Livelsberger was a Trump supporter.
Dean insisted that the bomber did not intend to hurt anyone with the blast, as he would have had the skills to commit a much worse atrocity if he had wanted to.
The Ford F-150 Lighting used by Shamsud Din Jabbar to kill 14 people in New Orleans on New Year’s Day. Police have insisted there is no connection between that attack and the Vegas bombing, despite several uncanny similarities between them and their perpetrators
Jabbar was a thrice-divorced former soldier and real estate agent who was shot dead by police after Wednesday’s atrocity.
Wednesday’s explosion occurred just hours after Shamsud Din Jabbar killed 14 people in New Orleans with a high-speed Ford F-150 Lighting EV.
Din Jabbar’s victims celebrated New Year’s in the Big Easy’s famed French Quarter.
After crashing his rented truck, he opened fire with a rifle, wounding two police officers before being shot dead.
Din Jabbar was also a military vet. The EV he had rented – also from Turo – was fitted with an ISIS flag prior to the atrocity.
Both he and Livelsberger had served at Fort Liberty, formerly known as Fort Bragg, in North Carolina.
Their time there overlapped somewhat.
Investigators say there are still no signs the two attacks were related.
That’s despite both perpetrators operating at the same base for the same time and using the same ride-sharing app to rent an EV for their respective misdeeds.
