Matt Turner has officially landed at Arsenal, joining the club for £5.75 million from New England Revolution.

With the paperwork finalized in February, the American has completed the MLS season for his transatlantic move.

The goalkeeper, who turned 28 on Friday, has finally arrived in London, as confirmed by Arsenal’s Twitter account

The Gunners wrote, “From New Jersey to North London…Welcome home, Matty Turner.”

The club have confirmed that he will be wearing Arsenal’s number 30 shirt and will be available for pre-season preparation soon.

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta told the club website: ‘Matt is an experienced keeper who will bring high quality to our team. He has shown in recent years both in the MLS and at international level with the United States that he is a goalkeeper who will give us extra strength next season.”

Turner has a long-term contract with the Gunners, which will see him fight Aaron Ramsdale for the starting role.

He has 18 caps with the US national team, including playing all six games as the US became the 2021 CONCACAF Gold Cup winners.

And Arsenal fans declared their love for him last week when it was reported by Sportsmail that he refused to sign a Tottenham fan’s shirt after his latest appearance at New England Revolution.

Turner will become Arsenal’s third signing during this transfer window, after Sao Paulo winger Marquinhos, who signed for an undisclosed fee, and midfielder Fabio Vieira, who joined from Porto for £29.9million.
