Matt Shirvington was left speechless on Wednesday after seeing footage of a crocodile trying to escape from its enclosure.
The Sunrise co-presenter, 45, was left stunned as he watched the massive crocodile climb and balance on the caged fence in front of shocked onlookers in Roebuck, Western Australia.
“That’s very scary. No,” Shirvo said from inside the Channel Seven studio.
Meanwhile, her co-host Natalie Barr assured her the crocodile was trying to use up the rest of its energy before a “big meal”.
“Either way, if he has the energy to get over that thing!” he added.
Fortunately, the crocodile slid back into its enclosure.
Shrivo He made his way into the hearts of Australians after he was Announced as the replacement for veteran Sunrise presenter David ‘Kochie’ Koch in 2023.
And a year later, the former Olympian has become one of the country’s most beloved television presenters.

Last month, the breakfast show host revealed the gruelling schedule that helped him reach the top of Network Seven in just one year.
She said she has taken advice from co-host Natalie Barr to implement a very strict morning routine.
“I’m trying to do a crash course sitting next to Nat because I can learn a lot from the lessons she’s learned along the way,” he said. 7News.com.au.
Shirvo starts his day at 2:20 a.m. to exercise on his exercise bike at home for 30 minutes while the rest of the country is still sleeping.

Shirvo said it’s the only way he can keep up with aspects of his job that, to his surprise, are very physically demanding.
“I think I’m a pretty strong and fit person, but even sitting there in that position and understanding that you have to move and react in a certain way, it’s quite physically and even mentally exhausting, so I think it was a big shock,” he said.
The presenter went on to say that he doesn’t even get a break when adverts come on for viewers at home because he and Nat, 56, have work to do behind the scenes.
As fans of the show watch the latest announcements, Shirvo said he and Nat are busy “recording promos, introductions and openings, and we’re also talking to the people we’re interviewing.”
The breakfast show host recently revealed the gruelling schedule that helped him reach the top of Network Seven in just one year.
When he returns home, Shirvo says he is so exhausted that he has to “take a nap” for half an hour after a big lunch just to “get through the rest of the day.”

Despite not coming from a journalism background, Shirvo found himself in a difficult situation, having to “introduce a lot” of news stories over the past year.
On her first day on the job she had to cover the devastating bus crash in the Hunter Valley that killed 10 people, a day Shirvo said was “tough” for the entire team.
The following year, the former athlete covered the Logies and the AFL Grand Final, as well as interviewing some big names such as Tom Cruise.
And after each segment he performs, Shirvo revealed that he relives it all again when he watches them a second time to analyze what he can do better.
He said it was a technique he used in his sporting years to become the third fastest Australian sprinter of all time and compete at the 2000 Sydney Olympics.
“I think for someone who doesn’t come specifically from a journalistic background, I’m proud of the way I’ve been able to fit into the team,” he said.
Shirvo shares daughters Sienna, 17, Winter, 15, and son Lincoln, six, with his high school sweetheart and now wife, Jessica Shirvington.
The former Australian national 100m champion said he has followed advice from co-host Natalie Barr, 56 (right) to implement a very strict morning routine.
He was announced as the replacement for veteran Sunrise presenter Kochie, 68, in June 2023 after he first signed on to work with Seven in 2020.
Kochie, Australia’s longest-serving morning television presenter, shocked viewers in May 2023 by announcing he was leaving the show after 21 years.
Despite having no formal training as a journalist at the time, this was not the first time Shirvo had held a journalistic position or appeared on television.
After cameos and guest roles on several other shows, Shirvo joined Sky News Australia in 2010 as a sports presenter and hosted Fox Sports NRL in 2013.
He also joined The Back Page as a co-host, worked as host of Friday Night Football on Fox League and in 2014 co-hosted the ASTRA Awards with Shaynna Blaze.
Seven Network hired Shirvo in June 2020 as a weekend sports reporter for Seven News Sydney, replacing Jim Wilson.
Shirvo was announced as the replacement for veteran Sunrise presenter Kochie in June 2023 after he first signed to work with Seven in 2020.
During this time he also acted as a fill-in presenter and sports presenter on Sunrise, Weekend Sunrise and The Morning Show.
Shirvo’s debut as a permanent co-host of Sunrise alongside Nat in June 2023 was a resounding success.
Seven bigwigs at the time said they were “relieved” by the positive reception, while hinting that they were not always convinced Shirvo could attract a loyal audience.
Talking to the industry blog Media Week Last December, Sarah Stinson, Seven’s morning show director, alluded to the network’s reservations.
“We were absolutely thrilled and relieved,” she said of the show’s continued dominance in the ratings at the time.
Stinson also revealed that the network is thrilled that ‘Shirvo’ has hit it off with his co-host Nat.
“He and Nat have a very natural chemistry and that comes through on the show,” she said.
