After three weeks in the jungle, Matt Hancock was ready for a night on the town on Monday.

Hours after finishing third in the 2022 series of I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here, the 44-year-old former health secretary was celebrating, heading to the series’ wrap-up party with his girlfriend. Gina Coladangelo, 45.

The couple donned all white for the celebration party as Matt was revealed to have received a 21% split of the final vote.

Matt had had time to wash off the jungle grime, emerging from the fellow campers’ fancy hotel in a crisp white shirt and blue jeans.

She finished in third place during Sunday night’s final, in which Lioness Jill Scott was crowned Queen of the Jungle after beating Hollyoaks actor Owen Warner into second place.

The ITV show announced how the public voted in the final: winner Jill received 47.29% of the vote, Owen got 30.99% and Matt finished with 21.72%.

After Matt left and there was a vote between the two finalists, the winner Jill received a 57.66% majority while Owen got 42.34%.

In the final episode, the three campmates faced a Bushtucker test each to win five stars per person and the party of their dreams later that night.

The next morning, they were greeted by Ant and Dec, who announced the winner of the 2022 series.

Leaving the Australian jungle, Matt was reunited with his girlfriend Gina and the couple shared a tight hug and kiss on the iconic bridge.

As they embraced, a overwhelmed Matt was heard saying ‘I love you so much’ to his partner, who traveled more than 9,000 miles to greet the Tory MP.

The politician defied all expectations by reaching the grand final and, after his departure, admitted that he decided to go into the jungle because he wanted to show the ‘lighter side’ of his personality.

During the show, Matt was questioned by ITV news presenter Charlene White about his handling of the coronavirus pandemic and how he broke his own social distancing guidelines when he was caught having an affair with assistant Gina Coladangelo.

Addressing the moment, Matt said he was “grateful” to his fellow campers for being able to have “adult conversations” despite his strong feelings, admitting they also had several “important” discussions about politics and his dyslexia.

He said: “We got to talk about some big stuff, not just politics in the strict sense, but also dyslexia, especially with Jill and George about growing up gay, all sorts of interesting conversations.”
