After years of comparisons, Matt Damon was finally asked if he thought he looked like his so-called double Jesse Plemons despite their 17-year age difference.

“Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, absolutely,” the 53-year-old Oscar-winning screenwriter confirmed. Access to Hollywood on Monday.

On June 11, the 36-year-old Oscar-nominated actor was literally placed inside a cage in Jimmy Kimmel Live for resembling Matt, as the talk show host has had a long-standing public rivalry with Damon.

Jesse went on to reveal that he once played the younger version of Cambridge-born blonde cowboy John Grady Cole’s character when he was 11 years old in Billy Bob Thorton’s 2000 western All the Pretty Horse.

“It was the most exciting part of my life,” Plemons recalled.

‘When the movie came out, my mother called our local movie theater and asked them to do a special screening for us. I invited a girl I liked and I was supposed to be in the first scene of the movie. We sat down and I wasn’t there.’

The red-headed Texan realized his scenes had been completely cut from the film: “So maybe it was (Matt)?”

Kimmel scoffed: “Of course it was him. Billy Bob would never do something like that.”

But Damon only has fond memories of the Texas set, where the crew was “freaked out” by their striking resemblance.

“Five people came up to me before I met him and said, ‘You’re not going to believe how much this guy looks like you,'” the IF actor told Access.

‘The photographer took a picture of us together because he couldn’t believe it. He looked more like me than when I was little. Like my 11-year-old face didn’t look like it did when I was little. He looked exactly like me. I thought, “This is really weird.”

Matt continued: “But he’s a great actor and I love what he’s done, the choices he makes. It’s amazing to watch. So I’m proud of the comparison… I would love to do something with him. I think he’s great. I look forward to working with him.”

Damon and Casey Affleck will star as thieves Rory and Cobby on the run in Doug Liman’s heist comedy The Instigators, which hits U.S. theaters in limited release this Friday before streaming Aug. 9 on Apple TV+.

The R-rated film will also star Hong Chau, Michael Stuhlbarg, Paul Walter Hauser, Ving Rhames, Alfred Molina, Toby Jones, Jack Harlow and Ron Perlman.

Meanwhile, Jesse’s upcoming roles include Lesli Linka Glatter’s six-episode conspiracy thriller Zero Day for Netflix, and Yorgos Lanthimos’ sci-fi comedy Bugonia, starring Emma Stone.
