Jubilant Matildas fans returning home after Australia’s win over Denmark in the Women’s World Cup have been hit with major travel issues.
Footage posted online showed thousands of fans stuck in lines leaving Olympic Park station in Sydney.
Crowds of yellow-shirted fans crowded outside the station as they waited for transport back to the city, with some saying the trains weren’t running in either direction.
One supporter said they had been told by a station announcer that there was a “minor signaling issue”.
“We are looking for a solution,” they would have added.
