One of Scott Morrison’s most prominent ministers, Mathias Cormann, will not contest the next election again and will step down by the end of the year.
“Now that I have decided not to re-organize the next election, I can confirm that I have informed the Prime Minister that the end of this year would be an appropriate time for an orderly transition in my portfolio,” he said in a statement.
“Before the baton is handed over, it will take another six months to work hard on this task, to help manage a responsible transition from this coronavirus-induced crisis and to maximize our five-year plan to maximize the strength of our economic and job recovery. ‘
