MasterChef runner-up Callum Hann reveals how his life changed after the show was watched by five million people: ‘You couldn’t walk into any public space’
Callum Hann was close to victory when he starred in MasterChef Australian in 2010.
The season two runner-up may not have taken home the trophy, but he says his life has changed forever.
Only 20 when he appeared on the cooking contest, the 33-year-old says he felt like a “rock star” after filming.
“I think if you count regionally, the season two finale[was watched by]five and a half million,” he tells me. Yahoo.
“So if you think about that, that’s about one in four people in the country.”

Callum continued, “Both Adam Liaw and myself felt like absolute rock stars for the first time after the show.
“You just couldn’t walk into a public space without people giving you a high five, wanting to shake your hand, wanting their picture taken with you, wanting you to sign a recipe card they found somewhere.”
The chef made a second attempt during the MasterChef All Stars season in 2012, which he won.
Callum has also since returned for MasterChef Australia: Back To Win in 2020, placing fourth.

Judge Melissa Leong shared a heartfelt tribute to Callum after he was eliminated from Back To Win.
