MasterChef Australia judge Jock Zonfrillo has revealed the five ingredients he always keeps in his kitchen for easy homemade classics.

Born in Glasgow and living in Melbourne, the Scottish chef said he would never run out of pasta, pancetta and parmesan cheese – staples that form the basis of many traditional Italian dishes.

The 44-year-old also swears by lemons and HP sauce, which can be used to flavor almost any meal.

The father of four – who has son Alfie, two and a newborn daughter Isla Generosa with his third wife, Lauren Fried, and daughters Ava, 19, and Sophia, 14, from previous marriages – said he never went on a diet because he ‘ loves to eat too much ‘.

With its five go-to ingredients, Jock said news.com.au he can make ‘many different dishes’ so that he never gets stuck.

As for healthy eating, the celebrity chef known for his penchant for swearing admitted that he doesn’t think much about it.

“Dieting is not my thing, I love to eat too much and also have such a fast metabolism that I am always hungry,” he said.

“I’m not really known for my health approach.”

Jock’s culinary explorations of indigenous communities, where food is considered a precious and finite resource, instilled a passion for sustainable cooking.

“One of the most important lessons I’ve learned is to give back more than you take, and that’s become an important part of my life,” he said.

Jock will be back on TV screens when MasterChef Australia premieres Monday, April 19 at 7:30 pm on Network 10.

On the MasterChef panel, he is joined by celebrity chef Andy Allen and famed food critic Melissa Leong.
