The stars of MasterChef Australia are sent through a series of tough challenges as they compete in the high-stakes reality competition.

But one contestant has claimed that the hardest part of filming the show actually has nothing to do with cooking.

Speak against The Sunday Telegraph, MasterChef 2021 contestant Jess Hodge, 36, explained that she hasn’t been able to spend much time with her family since she signed up for the reality show.

“I’ve been away from the boys for months now,” she said.

‘The process started at the end of last year, so it was quite a long time ago. It has been really, really hard knowing that my partner has been home taking care of them on their own. ‘

‘The game itself is very stressful and a lot of pressure, but knowing you have this whole other part of your life has to put you on hold,’

“Missing important moments in the boys’ lives and special occasions is really difficult,” she continued.

Jess and her wife Emily share three-year-old twins Arlo and Lucca.

Meanwhile, Judge Jock Zonfrillo told the publication that he was impressed with this year’s dedication to the show amid the global pandemic.

‘Their dedication and dedication to cooking and eating is truly inspiring.’

“I really hope they have now caught the beetle and continue to push hard for their obsession with food.”
