A massive manhunt is launched in Washington DC after a ‘dangerous’ 31-year-old criminal escapes from custody at a local hospital.
A prisoner has escaped from a Washington DC hospital and a full-scale police investigation has been opened.
Christopher Hayes, 31, escaped from the 900 block of 23rd Street Medical Facility at around 3:30 p.m. Thursday, according to Fox 5.
He was described as a black man with shoulder-length dreadlocks and wore a white suit with a red shoe.
Hayes is currently uncuffed and the public has been warned not to interact with him.
A helicopter was seen circling the area and much of it near the hospital was cordoned off.

An alert has been sent asking people to be on the lookout for the fleeing criminal and to call 911 if they spot him.
“Christopher Haynes, 31, escaped from police custody at GW Hospital in the 900 block of 23rd Street NW at 3:38 p.m.,” it read.
“He is described as a black man with shoulder length dreadlocks, wearing a white suit with a red shoe. He is not handcuffed.
“Don’t engage, call 911 if spotted.”
Footage from the scene shows a heavy police presence with dozens of officers patrolling the area.
Several areas near the hospital were cordoned off in pursuit of the escaped prisoner.
Some police officers search on foot while others travel in patrol cars or bicycles.
