The horrific moment when a Lego display collapsed and hit several people during a New Year’s Eve party at a Massachusetts arcade was caught on camera.
According to their Facebook page, “In The Game” on Lowell Street in Peabody hosted a “Noon Year’s Eve Celebration” Tuesday afternoon.
But when employees tried to perform the colorful balloon drop for the event, a Lego display fell on the young spectators, reported NBC Boston.
The plastic bricks fell about 10 feet into the crowd, resulting in minor injuries to 10 people, Peabody Fire Chief John Dowling said. Boston 25 News.
Eight people were taken to local hospitals, and two refused to go. The ages of the victims are unknown, but images showed children and parents in the crowd.

Attendees also shared a video of the moment the display collapsed onto a crowd of families eagerly waiting for the shower of bright balloons to fall.
‘New Year 2024… Hopefully this is not an indication of what the year 2025 will be like. Everyone is doing well…little blood,” a witness said on Facebook.

Lawren Turco, who attended the event with her family, shared WBZ TV the scene was chaotic.
“We watched the entire balloon descent without any idea that anything was happening until we were leaving immediately after the balloon descent,” she said.
‘There were large LEGO pieces everywhere, children were crying, there were loads of people in the office, some with ice packs over their heads and people allowing their children to steal the Lego pieces as souvenirs.
‘It was pure chaos. I had no idea of the true events until after the incident.”
According to the arcade website, the event was sold out. It included 60 minutes of unlimited play, 300 prize tickets, a sparkling juice toast at noon, souvenirs, a balloon drop, confetti shower and party favors.
