Mason Greenwood reportedly wants Spanish football bosses to drop an investigation after Real Madrid star Jude Bellingham allegedly insulted the striker during a match.

The clash between Bellingham and Greenwood was communicated by La Liga to the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF).

Greenwood had previously been charged with attempted rape, assault and coercive behavior in January 2022, but the Crown Prosecution Service dropped the charges in February 2023 following the withdrawal of key witnesses.

Spanish reports have claimed that Bellingham could be banned for up to four games, under the rules, if he is deemed to have uttered the alleged insult to Greenwood.

Expert witness and forensic lip reader Jeremy Freeman said he is “97 percent sure” Bellingham uttered the slur at Greenwood during their Feb. 1 meeting.
