The shooting took place at an address where a concrete company is located and about four miles from Fort Detrick. It was unclear whether the suspect had approached the army base.

Jeremy Mutschler, Marketing Director of Nicolock Paving Stones, said he understands the shooting took place near the company’s Frederick location, but not at the company itself.

“One of the injured victims entered our facility looking for help and we were able to help and call the authorities,” said Mutschler, who is based in New York.

No further information was immediately available from the police, but a local ABC News reporter said the suspect is “active US Navy.”

ABC’s Brad Bell said sources told him there are also three crime scenes in Frederick: “One scene is in Frederick City, one in Frederick County, and another on US military grounds.”
