It’s been a busy few months for Panthers superstar Nathan Cleary, who has been enjoying some well-deserved rest and relaxation during the NRL off-season.

Fresh from leading Penrith to their fourth consecutive premiership in October, Cleary jetted off to Europe to spend some time with girlfriend Mary Fowler.

The Australian sporting power couple have shared multiple snaps from their holiday, with the duo photographed traveling around the UK and heading to Mallorca for a beach getaway.

Cleary also followed Fowler to Switzerland to watch the Matildas striker take on La Nati, while posting snaps of himself enjoying a dip in a Swiss lake.

Cleary, 27, has since returned from Europe and had surgery on a shoulder injury that has plagued him for the past two seasons.

As he seeks to return to full fitness as quickly as possible, he has been using an unconventional recovery strategy that involves sea moss and, at times, a carnivore diet, including four steaks a day and a serving of bone broth.

As his recovery continues, the football star appears to have recently taken a trip to Burleigh with his girlfriend Mary Fowler.

Cleary captioned the Instagram post: “Charging the batteries, with Fowler commenting: ‘Hey handsome,’ adding a ‘love letter’ emoji.

It is understood that it will take between three and four months for Cleary to be fit enough to fully return to training, but he has been gradually increasing his training load of late.

“It’s about a three or four month recovery, so it’s been good so far,” he said.

“I’m checking the boxes little by little, and then it will start to ramp up after Christmas,” Cleary said.

“I’m a little ahead of schedule, which is great.”

It comes after Fowler was ruled out of the Matildas’ recent international matches in November against Brazil and Chinese Taipei.

In making the decision, Fowler cited the need to look after his physical and mental wellbeing, having had a busy start to the 2024-25 season with both the Matildas and Manchester City.

She struck again on Sunday, scoring a penalty in the 2-1 defeat in the Women’s Super League clash against Everton.

Despite the defeat, City remain second in the WSL standings, six points behind top-placed Chelsea and one point ahead of Arsenal.

City will be in European action on Wednesday night, with Fowler’s side traveling to face Barcelona in the Champions League, before the winter break.
